The United Kingdom’s ambassador to Somalia, Michael Nithavriankis made an official visit to the city of Garowe, the capital of the Puntland regional state and met with President Said Abdullahi Deni.
The meeting between the UK ambassador and the Puntland president focused on strengthening the state building process in Somalia, development in the region as well as promoting democracy in Puntland.
During the meeting the meeting at the presidential palace, other senior Puntland officials were in attendance, including the vice president Ahmed Karash, the minister of finance, the state minister for the presidential palace of Puntland as well as the president of Puntland’s advisors.
Puntland originally formed in 1998 and is one of five federal member states and has played a pivotal role in the rebuilding of the country, its constitution and statehood.
