A dispute over TikTok has turned violent, leaving one man dead in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

Two prominent TikTokers in Mogadishu reportedly got into a physical altercation over a girl, which would later turn violent, Daljir Media has learnt.

Following the altercation, which took place at “Beerta Banaadir” one of the TikTokers met up with two of his friends that were plainclothes officers from the National Intelligence & Security Agency (NISA) to confront the rival TikToker. This led to another round of physical altercation between the TikTokers, with a good Samaritan attempting to break up the fight, who was then shot dead by one of the plane clothed NISA agents.

The victim who was just a good Samaritan died instantly. The two NISA officers and the the other TikToker were arrested.

The NISA officer who pulled the trigger identified as Mohamed Abukar Dayah has been sentenced to death for his role in the murder according to state run media while the other NISA officer was sentenced to five years in prison.

The Tik Toker who brought along the NISA agents following the initial fight was sentenced to one year in prison following a month long trial in Mogadishu.

The two NISA officers implicated in the case were said to be under cover agents that operated in the Taleex area and Bakaara Market in Mogadishu prior to there arrest.
