PUNTLAND-EMIRATES RELATIONS DEEPEN AMID TURKISH AND QATARI TROLLS AND NET SPIES’ ATTEMPTS TO INFLUENCE PUBLIC OPINION AND DERAIL PROGRESS
As Puntland, with UAE’s support, triumphs in the war against ISIS and forges strategic ties with ‘Little Sparta,’ Turkey-Qatari-backed forces – linked to the same Qatari forces behind the Bossaso court terror attack (x.com/radiodaljir/st…) – work relentlessly to undermine Puntland and its people, falsely portraying them as mere extensions of the Emirates in a bid to discredit the fight against ISIS.
Iman @imanmali of PuntlandFirst responds and tells the world, “Do not fall for the most transparent propaganda being spread from Southern Somalia [and sponsored by Turkish-Qatari intelligence agencies]. There are no Israeli air defense systems in Puntland. There are no suicide drones launching from Bosaso. These are complete fabrications meant to distract and divide.”
Iman adds, “The real issue is political. The current Somali government and some of its former government supporters have turned against #Puntland for refusing to bow to centralized control.”
And who is driving the push for centralized power in Somalia? Unsurprisingly, Turkey and Qatar – seeking to ensure that decision-making remains solely in Mogadishu, where a single authority, an individual who can easily be bribed with a luxury villa on the Bosphorus, can sign away Somalia’s natural resources without a shred of accountability. Recall the recently signed oil and gas agreement with Turkey (x.com/radiodaljir/st…), where Somalia receives a mere 5% of the revenue while bearing the cost of security provided by Turkish-Qatari forces. Now, they’re pushing for more deals of the same nature, ensuring control remains firmly in their hands.
