True peace and reconciliation cannot succeed or endure without the full and active participation of women.
We therefore call for a meeting today at the Puntland State House in Galkayo City to ensure that women are meaningfully and fully included in the reconciliation process between the two sub-clans, Salemaan Abdalle and Sheekh Ahaal/Loobogay.
Women have a vital role to play in building trust, healing communities, preventing renewed conflict, and creating sustainable and lasting peace. Their voices must not only be heard; they must be actively included in the discussions and decisions that shape the future of their communities.
There can be no lasting peace without the full and meaningful participation of women. Their inclusion is not only a matter of representation—it is essential to achieving genuine reconciliation and a peaceful future for all.
