Mudug Peace-Building Scholars Take a Leading Role in Advancing Peace and Reconciliation in Galkayo

GALKAYO, MUDUG REGION — This afternoon, the Mudug Region Peace-Building Scholars took a leading and commendable role in advancing peace, reconciliation, and dialogue between the two brotherly sub-clans, Saleman Abdalle and Sheikhal Lobogay, in Horumar District, Galkayo.

The scholars brought together representatives and members of both communities in a constructive effort aimed at promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence. Their engagement reflects the vital role of religious scholars, traditional elders, and community leaders in resolving differences peacefully and strengthening social harmony.

The Peace-Building Scholars underscored that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, respect, unity, forgiveness, and a shared commitment to the common interests of the community. They called upon traditional elders, religious leaders, women, youth, and all community stakeholders to actively contribute to the reconciliation process and safeguard the progress being made.

This initiative marks an important and encouraging step toward restoring trust, healing divisions, strengthening brotherhood, and building sustainable peace between the two communities.
