A NEW AIRSTRIP SURFACES AT ABD AL-KURI OF SOCOTRA ARCHIPELAGO NEAR THE ALUULA COAST

A never seen before airstrip has surfaced on the Abd al-Kuri Island, once claimed by Somalia and is part of the larger Socotra Archipelago in the Indian Ocean and only 100 KM from the Aluula Coast of Raas Caseyr region of Puntland State of Somalia.

Socotra has been part of Yemen, but since the invasion of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Socotra has been under UAE dominion with residents allegedly given UAE passports.


Abd al-Kuri lies at the strategic entrance to the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.
