The Ministry of Youth and Sports for the Federal Government of Somalia has suspended the chairwomen’s of of the youth sports federation, Khadija Aden Omar.
This comes a day after Somalia performed horribly in a track and field tournament in Bejing, China coming in last place.
The controversary that led to the chairwomen suspension was not about Somalia coming in last place but more-so on how an unqualified individual could represnt Somalia on the world stage, which led Somalia to being a laughing stock in the sports world as widely reported by the international press.
Somalis both at home and in the diaspora were outraged with many taking to social media to vent there frustration.
The Somali Olympic Committee (SOC) released a statement in support if the Ministry of Youth and Sports that called for the suspension of chairwomen Khadija Aden Omar.
