What about Somalia and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud? During the two years and nine months President Hassan Sheikh has been presiding over Mogadishu, Somalia has received over $2 billion USD from the USAID. Unfortunately, most of this aid never reached the intended beneficiaries.

In January 2025, it was reported that President Hassan Sheikh has allegedly stashed $260 million of that USAID money in offshore Swiss Bank accounts. These funds, according to US reports, originally intended as budget support and aid for the needy Somali people, were misappropriated and have now been frozen.
Where did the remaining over $2 billion go? Perhaps it funded a private Jet and expensive mansions in Istanbul along the Bosphorus Strait?
Will Secretary Scott Bessent hold President Hassan Sheikh accountable too? Somali people demand it. President Donald Trump and Secretary Bessent should take note.
