As the country’s security slowly deteriorates, late night bomb blast in Mogadishu wounds three

A large blast ripped through the night sky in the Somali capital, Mogadishu which was heard from various districts. A Toyota Prada vehicle with three passengers exploded after the explosive device covertly attached to the vehicle was detonated.

The explosion occurred on the road near the Milk Factory, with three wounded victims in the vehicle being taken to local area hospitals. A pedestrian was also wounded after being struck by shrapnel from the fragments of the explosion, as the explosive laden vehicle detonated near the victim on the sidewalk adjacent to the road.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet. The Al-Qaeda linked militant group Al-Shabaab are known to carry out attacks of this nature.

In recent weeks, security in the capital Mogadishu has been slowly deteriorating, as the country slowly descends into further political unrest, regional wars, clan conflicts, and uncertain political future.
