Before anyone knew, a day before President Hassan Sheikh returned to Kenya, MP Kulane informed the world that President Hassan Sheikh will be heading back to Kenya the second time in a week to auction off Somalia’s natural resources. The MP posted on his X, “Confirmed: In total disregard of the country’s laws and those of the parliament to scrutinize it, as well as the public’s right to know, the Somali offshore oil blocks will be auctioned on the BLACK MARKET!”

MP Kulane continued that the President “has been working on a deal to sell oil blocks and that is his main reason of several travels to Kenya and is again traveling today to Nairobi to finalize the deal!”
And then by midnight, President Hassan Sheikh’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Mr. Abdirizak Mohamed began a row with MP Kulane.
Minister Abdirizak in an angry and hasty tone accused the MP of being “obnoxious.” As to the accusation against the President, the Minister called them “absurd” and again accused the MP of “spreading such blatant lies puts u [you] on par with the likes of known psychopaths.”
Minister Abdirizak again accused MP Kulane of failing “to grasp the very obvious fact that president’s role as the head of state doesn’t include in dealing with individual Ministerial portfolios.” And then the insults began as the Minister accused the MP of “ad hominem attacks against the president gives you some comfort. The hydrocarbon portfolio is under my docket and such infantile behavior of spreading lies only damages your character, if you have any left!”

Unbeknown to Minister Abdirizak, come Tuesday morning the President was on the first flight to Kenya. Apparently Minister Abdirizak Mohamed wasn’t privy to the President’s travel arrangements or just like everyone else, he was kept in the dark.
As President Hassan Sheikh Landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, it was MP Kulane’s time to respond harshly to Minister Abdirizak. “Your flimsy post here only shifts responsibilities from the president to you. However, It is widely known—that the President micromanages any role that has the potential of getting him extra cash and your claim here that the President, who happens to be your close relative, has no role in the auctioning of the Somali oil is totally bonkers,” MP Kulane responded on X.

As for auctioning Somalia’s resources, MP Kulane reminded Minister Abdirizak of his constitutional duty and the proper procedures to follow and not follow when selling off Somalia’s natural resources. The MP reprimanded Minister Abdirizak by telling him that “Neither you nor he [President Hassan Sheikh] has the right to sell off Somalia resources on your own, and there is a procedure enshrined in the constitution to be followed.”

With corruption scandals becoming daily events at Villa Somalia, and the latest and the most severe being Minister Farah Abdiqadir, President Hassan Sheikh’s Minister of Education’s alleged plan to divert over $20 million of donor funds intended for Federal Member States, MP Kulane once again reminds Minister Abdirizak that “since you got into office, you have entered into several deals, some after receiving bribes to sell off Somali resources. BTW [By the way], you are a classical example of HSM’s corruption; you are only appointed for being a close relative to the president.”

And finally, MP Kulane reminds his fellow MPs and the Somali public at large that “The President/businessman is again out of the country.” As to the President’s continuous ins and outs of Kenya, MP Kulane recounts that “over the last two months, he [the President] has made an average of one trip every 15 days to Nairobi, Kenya.”
As we end this story, there is yet to be a response from Minister Abdirizak Mohamed, President Hassan Sheikh’s close relative and his Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources.
