With the Trump administration in a fierce fight to eradicate corruption and end US funding facilities that facilitate corruption, MP Abib brings to the attention of the Trump administration “the widespread and systemic misappropriation of #Green Climate Fund (GCF) resources allocated to Somalia.” The MP has revealed “substantial evidence of financial misconduct, violations of Somalia’s Public Financial Management (PFM) Act, breaches of procurement laws, and deliberate misallocation of funds to entities designed to facilitate corruption rather than genuine environmental impact.”

As to who funds the Climate Change scam, the United States has contributed $2 billion to the Global Climate Fund of which Somalia is set to receive $100 million of those funds.
MP Abib, similar to ceased USAID funds, claims the “GCF funding in Somalia is not an isolated case of poor governance but a calculated and orchestrated effort by senior officials within the Office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Education, and other relevant agencies to divert climate funds into private hands.” He continues that this “fraudulent scheme has been deliberately structured to bypass legal safeguards, and its primary objective is to create a financial reserve that will be used to BUY the upcoming 2026 [Somalia] elections, ensuring the continuity of a corrupt administration.”

MP Abib names the Somali organizations set up to be used to facilitate the GCF funding, and they include #ICE at #SIMAD University, #Earth Somalia, #Restore Somalia Foundation, the #Climate Resilience and Adaptation Network (CRAN), the #Somalia Environmental Conservation Agency (SECA), and the #Somali Institute for Agricultural Development Organization (SIADO), all of which the MP says were “hand-selected to receive significant portions of the GCF funding despite having no proven track record, no demonstrable expertise in climate resilience, and, in some cases, no verifiable existence beyond hastily created websites.”
What do all these organizations have in common? MP Abib answers this question and states that they share the common characteristics of lacking transparency, no evidence of prior work, no public contact information, and adds that they are “established as conduits for financial misappropriation.”
The MP recommends, “Given the severity of these findings, immediate action is required to prevent further financial abuse and ensure accountability. The first and most urgent step is the immediate suspension of all GCF disbursements to Somalia until a full forensic audit is conducted.”
The Somali MP urges Elon Musk and the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and of course the GCF leadership “to take immediate measures to halt further funding, launch an independent forensic audit, and ensure that those responsible for the looting of climate funds are brought to justice.”
MP Abib concludes, “There must be no impunity for those who seek to steal the future of Somalia for their own gain. The world must no longer turn a blind eye to corruption disguised as climate action.”
MP Abib, a Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, has been a fierce fighter of corruption and has previously filed complaints with the U.S. Government against the same Minister of Education who is now running the climate scheme on behalf of Parliament and the Ministries of Education of the Federal Member States, as a result the GPE agency suspended the entire $127,000,000 allocated to Somalia’s education program.
Subsequently, Dr. Abib sent a request to the new U.S. administration led by President Trump, urging that the frozen funds be added to the GPE budget until an investigation could be conducted into how the agency had spent the previously allocated funds.

It is now suspected that Somalia’s Minister of Education Faarax Sheekh Cabduqaadir has realized the expected GPE funds will no longer arrive, and as such, he shifted his focus to misappropriating and securing control over the US-funded $100 million allocated for climate change funding.
