SSC-KHATUMO LEADER FINALLY GETS SEATED (SORT OF) AT THE NCC MEETING IN MOGADISHU

SSC-KHATUMO LEADER FINALLY GETS SEATED (SORT OF) AT THE NCC MEETING IN MOGADISHU

After much confusion and alleged betrayal by the Minister of Interior Ali Xoosh and other unnamed SSC MPs, on day two of the National Consultative Council meeting, Leader of SSC-Khatumo has been given a seat at the table.

Villa Somalia posted on X that “President Hassan Sheikh chaired session two of the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting in Mogadishu with the purpose of hearing from the Leader of SSC-Khatumo administration Mr. Abdukadir aw-Ali Firdhiye, who is in Mogadishu for a working visit.”

The post goes the length in making sure to mention that Leader Firdhiye is in Mogadishu not to attend the NCC meeting, but for other “working visit” purposes.

However, the betrayal didn’t go unnoticed by the Somali public, as discussions on social media were dominated by the conflicting invitations sent by the Minister of Interior Ali Xoosh. The same Ali Xoosh, a notorious member of the Garoowe Aaranjaan group who was never keen on the liberation of SSC-Khatumo from Somaliland.

Ali Xoosh’s First invitation made clear that Leader Firdhiye will be in Mogadishu to attend the NCC meeting, but eventually to undermine Leader Firdhiye, the invitation was changed to “Leader Firdhiye is in Mogadishu for a working visit.”

To save face, a second day of NCC meeting was held, and to add insult to injury, Villa Somalia made sure to tell Muse Bihi, Deputy PM Salah who was present at the briefing, and to other Somaliland MPs that Leader Firdhiye isn’t here to attend the NCC meeting, but for his own working visit purposes in Mogadishu.

However, MP Mohamed Keyse who represents SS-Khatumo, wasn’t so kind to Leader Firdhiye. On an X post titled “A decision that isn’t well-thought of begets too much suffering,” MP Keyse posted, “For Firdhiye to avoid Garoowe and show love to Mogadishu by declaring upon arrival at the airport that “Laascaanood is the land of Somalia and so are its people” has the feeling that the 700 who died for the liberation war hasn’t resulted the achievement of the desired mission.”

Now the question many people are asking is, “Will Firdhiye recover from this latest political miscalculation of trying to build a political alliance with those who are committed in making sure that SSC-Khatumo never becomes a Federal Member State?”
