U.S. Acknowledges Emergence of Multipolar World, Steps Down as Sole Hegemon

In a rare and unexpected declaration, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio shocked the media on Thursday by announcing that the U.S. is no longer a hegemon. In an interview with Megyn Kelly, Rubio stated, “It’s not normal for the world to simply have a unipolar power, that was an anomaly, that was a product of the end of the Cold War. But eventually you’re going to return back to having a multipolar world … We face that now with China and to some extent Russia.”

Following this shocker of an announcement, the closure of USAID and the removal of prominent signs in the front lobby of the agency’s Washington DC headquarters seemed imminent, just a week after the Trump administration initiated a near-total freeze of U.S. foreign aid.

As we now publish this, the @usaid X handle has gone dark, and the USAID website (usaid.gov) has been pulled down.

With the Ukraine war lost and the U.S. now threatening to take over the Panama Canal, Canada, and Greenland, has the world returned to the pre-Cold War spheres of influence?
